Customized gearbox designs from the VG series were developed to drive the side feeders.  This type of gearbox drives two worms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The output shafts rotate in the same or opposite direction, depending on the requirements for feeding or e.g. dewatering. An integrated thrust bearing ensures that the screw back pressures are absorbed. The defined installation position of the screws in the radial and axial direction is achieved with special coupling connections to lock the screws in place. Sealing of the shafts in the coupling housing is ensured with stuffing box packings.
