Linear drives for all-electric injection molding machines

Energy efficiency and low noise levels characterize an all-electric injection moulding machine. Hydraulic oil is often undesirable in areas such as the food industry, pharmaceutical industry or medical technology, where “clean” electric drive technology is used. Knödler has developed linear drives for this purpose, which are divided into three series.

Injection unit

  • Combination with plasticizing gearbox FZ 81.3 – up to FZ 901.3

  • Injection force 80 – 1,300 kN

  • Stroke 100 – 450 mm

  • Injection speed 0.3 – 0.5 m/s

  • Plasticizing torque 900 – 11,500 Nm

  • Linear movement for injection and rotary movement for plasticizing in one compact unit

Clamping unit drive

  • 2 – 3 gear stages

  • Axial force 25 – 370 kN

  • Stroke 235 – 975 mm

  • Speed 1 m/s

  • 2 – 4-fold tooth engagement on the rack

  • Short design despite comparatively long stroke due to telescopic seal

  • Integrated water cooling from size ZS 81-C

Ejection unit drive

  • Ejection force 25 – 100 kN

  • Stroke 100 – 180 mm

  • Speed 0.3 – 0.4 m/s

  • 2-fold tooth engagement on the gear rack

  • Small size due to the use of a telescopic seal

  • Absolutely silent operation
